Notes: Written on the back: An excellent study of Indian Mary Peters. Who after her father's death operated a ferry across the Rogue in the Galice mining district. The location is known today as Indian Mary Park (1976). Picture taken about 1895 after she gave up the ferry operation and moved to Grants Pass so that her children could attend school.
