Notes: Forest Service employees. Dowell came from Missouri as a CCC enrollee and worked at Camp Applegate. In October 1937 when a new CCC squad came from the Promised Land camp in Pennsylvania, Dowell stayed on as a junior forman. In November 1938 he married Leeta Breeden in Sherridan, OR. In October 1941 Slim was the lookout at Dutchman's Peak.
