Notes: An abbreviated timeline of his life: 1829 - born in Madison, NY 1852 - travelled from Missouri to Clackamas, O.T. with brother Robert, Helena's father 1853 - staked a 160-acre DLC in Eagle Point c. 1854 - opened a profitable bakery in Sterlingville boomtown 1858 - bought farmland in Applegate Valley, "founded" Uniontown 1866 - with U.S. Hayden of Jacksonville, purchased sawmill and equipment from Justus Wells at Wellsville (area west of today's Upper Applegate Grange) 1867-77 - adulterous relationship with Elizabeth, wife of Reuben Armstrong (as in Armstrong Gulch on Sterling Creek), probably fathering at least 1 child (paternity never acknowledged) 1872-75 - owner of Sterling Mine 1885 - elected to Oregon House of Representatives 1890, 1896 - elected to state Senate 1892 - sold Applegate farm and mining interests, "retired" to Jacksonville, married Mollie Bilger Krause, a widow 30 years his junior with 3 small children 1893 - son Charles Donald Cameron born 1904 - Mollie died at age 45 1914 - Tod died in Oakland, CA while visiting son Don
