First Row: Ina Stoker Pursel
Notes: Ina Stoker and her mother were teachers and came from Iowa to Jackson County in 1906. Ina taught at the Beaver Creek school in 1907, then at Little Applegate in 1908 where she boarded with the Pursel family. The Pursels had moved their sawmill from James Dews' property at Palmer Creek to 360 acres on Little Applegate purchased from J.F. Crump in 1908. Ina married Nelson Pursel on August 26, 1908.
