First Row: Wallace & Bertha Haskins
Source: Evelyn Byrne Williams collection
Notes: The Haskins were very early Applegate pioneers. Wallace met Bertha in Pekin, Illinois while serving in the military. They married, moved to Jackson County where Bertha taught at a rural school near Ashland in 1924, returned to Illinois where Bertha taught in Peoria 1931-35, then returned to Oregon. They built a log cabin near Beaver Creek and Bertha started teaching at the school nearby.
