Notes: Sturgis first married Mary Almira Talley and had 3 sons. Mary divorced him and won a lawsuit to take all of their substantial land, forcing Albert into bankruptcy. He married Martha on July 21, 1885, and thereafter acquired mining claims along Jackass & Poormans Creek.. In 1892 he purchased the 160-acre Logtown homestead of John & Maryum McKee from Austin Albright. Sturgis Mining Company was located 2 miles up Forest Creek Road.
